My car is still under warranty so they need to take care of this but I am concerned as to if they say they fixed it, and then it occurs again after the warranty is up. We had the recall done for the Cvt earlier this year. I will be trading this car in because I do not feel safe driving this car in fear of it stalling in the middle of rush hour traffic. Anyone car shopping, good luck! Owned it exactly a year and now have 70,000miles on it. Jones says: I have a Nissan Altima 2014 that I am leasing through the Uber program xchange leasing. I took it to the dealer and they said they test drove it with no problems. I tried today to trade this car off.
I suspect hydraulic system problem. This was my 3rd Nissan i used to be a nissan lover never again will I purchase another one. It was me, I found the 6 quarts over on the shelf for commercial accounts desk and of course I needed more than 6 quarts but when I went to order the product they said they only had 6 in stock so I just dealt with it but when I was there and I ended up finding the fluid myself I also seen that they had an additional 3 quarts including the 6 I ordered but like usual their inventory count is off as usual. Department of Highway Safety needs to look into this problem and do something about it!! Not only is the transmission bad enough now they say the air compresser is also bad in it. We found out it was covered under their extended 120,000, 10 year warranty because of the number of similar failures. I could not understand how a 3 year old car could need a new transmission. I was told first it was a airflow sensor problem 4 months later I needed a new transmission.
Has anyone changed their transmission filter so you can share you experience. Its a 2016 altima at the time 20k but now at 37k miles and transmission already giving me problems. I released the accelerator for a few seconds and then it responded when I pressed it again. I will never buy another Nissan and plan to share my story broadly to protect as many people as possible from my fate. This cvt transmission is a piece of junk. Features thermo-oxidative stability and extreme pressure protection.
It was easy to use, sleek, light! Maybe this will help with your install. I noticed reddish spots in the flooring! I will not buy a Nissan Altima, anymore. Or a Chevy…, Or, pretty much anything else. The service adviser called yesterday and said it was the transmission—what?! The vehicle was not repaired. Took it to dealership, they said I needed transmission.
Nissan basically stated exactly what each of you have experienced. Our 2 Nissans same issue. Spoke with dealership, and they said over the phone , it would be 3-5 k for new tranny, waa also told that they stock the all the transmission parts because it happens all the time!! They still have my car as of now and I am waiting to see how they rectify this. Lately I have notice that the tramsmission has gotten load when changing gears. I drove interstate, highway miles a lot. Apparently the previous owner did not change the fluid when recommended. Advance Auto Parts has 8 different Automatic Transmission Fluid for your vehicle, ready for shipping or in-store pick up.
After cool off for 60 min coud continuer on my way for about 100 more km. We recently traveled to Tennessee for our 25th wedding anniversary. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where the mechanic stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. When I stop at a stop light or to make a turn I am having to push my gas pedal to the floor and then it takes between 3-7 seconds to start to go. Selling as soon as possible. I took it home and fixed it myself. Dealer replaced switch under warranty.
At that time I thought it was the fuel problem because I was stopped on a hill and my fuel was low but it wasnt fully empty so I was boffeled as to what it may be. We had it 3 weeks before the transmission went out on it. About two weeks later the problem began occurring with the new tranny. I am going to file a complaint through customer care. Out of extended warranty by 300 miles. Problem surfaced within 1000 miles. We have since contacted Nissan customer support as the issue is still being investigated.
Dealer reported one drive axle was not properly seated in the trans output mechanism. No problems at all actually, aside from maintenance which can get expensive as the miles add up. This time, the jerking causes the engine to completely turn off. Nissan has had a good record of reliable dependable cars. They said no we will still have to bring it back here for New valve body at 4,000. I will never by another Nissan again!!! I asked my husband to drive it but by the time he got around to it, the car would be driving fine.
Of course I get no assistance but of course the people still want the car note. I'm on a time sensitive situation at all times with my clients and the last thing I need is to be told the part s i was charged for upfront is not in stock like it said it was, so now not only am I wasting my time, fuel, money! She took few bags each time to the kitchen so she traveled few times from the car to the kitchen. I took it in to the dealership where I have it serviced and they said I needed a new transmission. I drive about 40,000 miles per year, and for the small charge, will continue to replace it annually. This care is very well maintained. The serv dept informed me that the issue was the throttle body assembly. I stopped at Nissan dealer and they said its valve control assembly is broken and they will changed it.
Hesitating in traffic and dying at stoplights. I called Nissan again and asked them to pay for the repairs to be made; they were not willing to work with me at all in any way. A new transmission is required buy Nissan dealer does not want to fix this matter. I am 70 years old and do not drive much. Please call for customer service and availability at 1-800-858-7269.
